were first penned. HLN reports Maj. Lamont Haas wrote hundreds of letters to his wife, Betty Lou, before he died during World War II. The suitcase containing them was sold at auction in Nevada, but after the letters were found inside, the buyer took it to the Department of Veterans Affairs. WBTV reports Haas’ daughter got to see the long-lost letters Sunday.
