A woman performs CPR on a bird. Many good Samaritans have saved a life by performing CPR. One woman in Australia has a very rare life-saving story.Gail Daniell took in a tiny, weak and ant-covered wild-crested pigeon and nursed it back to health. Four days later, the pigeon, stopped breathing and began choking. In a panicked state, Daniell began giving the bird CPR. She states “I gave him probably three or four little breaths and pumped his little chest a few times and he started to come back to life.” Daniell is trained in first aid and over the past 6 years has taken in and cared for roughly 50 animals. She hopes the the pigeon will be healthy enough to be released into a park in the near future. In 2011, a veterinarian in Oregon saved a bald eagle named Patriot by giving it CPR. The creature had been discovered with a fractured wing and it was turned over to the veterinary clinic.During an exam, something went horribly wrong when Patriot stopped breathing and that’s when the vet performed the life saving measure of mouth to beak CPR.
