A woman calls police on Salvation Army seasonal bell ringers due to the noise. The holiday season is usually a time of happiness… Well not so much for a Portsmouth, New Hampshire woman.She is fed up with a common sound we hear around the holidays, Salvation Army bell ringers. Sarah Hamilton-Parker works in a downtown store in Market Square.She states “I listen to this for 200 hours a year. This is my fourth year and I can't take it anymore. I'm so sick of it.” She has complained to the Salvation Army for several years but the bell ringers have not moved.Her next step will be writing a complaint to city officials or having neighboring businesses sign a petition to move the bell ringers. Hamilton-Parker has recently resorted to calling police, but there is nothing they can do as city authorities have already given permission for bell ringing during the season. Some areas have actually banned bell ringing for the Salvation Army’s Annual Red Kettle Campaign. Recently, the downtown area of Colorado Springs issued a panhandling law which prohibited bell ringers from using a specific downtown site.Where do you stand on this issue?
