Why Lorie Did Not Research Her Cancer

Nope, and like I would say to someone else, I know the names of everything that’s important to me. I know the names of all my family friends. I know the names of the mountains I live around. I even know the name of my bicycle I ride, that I love. I wasn’t going to give cancer anymore of my time, energy, memory or anything like that.
Those who were responsible for my treatment, they knew more about it than I could ever know. They knew how to spell it backwards. They probably thought about it at night and they were the ones responsible and they were the ones doing the great job.
I was there to make sure what I was responsible for, I did. I was there to make sure that I stayed positive and I listened to what they said and I sometimes questioned what they said to make sure that I understood, but did I need to know technical terms? No.
They weren’t going to change how I felt. They weren’t going to make me feel better and I felt as though that was part of me saying, “You are not going to get that much time,” and I didn’t give them that much time. Do I know how they say recovery? Oh yeah, oh yeah, I could spell it and that was the most important. That was what I was focused on and that’s what I would stay focused on.
