Katherine Power: Hello Everyone! And welcome to the WhoWhatWear fashion closet. I am Katherine Power.
Hillary Kerr: I am Hillary Kerr. At whowhatwear.com we get a lot of emails from readers wanting to know different ways to wear their scarves. We'll show you our three favorite styles and how to wear them, but first let's get a little inspiration.
Female Speaker: We recently spotted Rihanna wearing a gorgeous black and white Balenciaga scarf. This scarf is beautifully bold, so Rihanna smartly kept the rest of her outfit classic by wearing a white tank and simple blue jeans.
Kate Hudson also loves her scarves. The actress was seen walking in New York's West Village wearing a long blue and white scarf with her off the shoulder dress and neutral accessories.
Last but not least, we noticed Claudia Schiffer strolling the London streets in a scarf. The supermodel chose a lightweight blue pattern version to perk up her all-white outfit.
Hillary Kerr: A colorful and lightweight scarf can jump-start your whole look. Just make sure that you start with a really classic base, like a t-shirt and jeans, so you don't look too trendy.
Katherine Power: Scarves are also an affordable way to embrace seasonal trends, like florals, ethnic prints, or metallics, without altering much of your wardrobe.
This first scarf was made very popular last fall by Balenciaga. It's a perfect square, so you will want to fold it in half, corner-to-corner.
Hillary Kerr: You will then lay the triangle on your chest, with the point facing the floor, and fold the other ends around the back of your neck.
The second and most commonly seen version is the rectangular scarf. You will want to fold this one in half the long ways and then pull it around the back of your neck, using the whole and the fold to pull the other ends through.
Katherine Power: And since you are folding it a couple of times, it will work best if you choose a scarf that's lightweight. That way the overall look isn't too bulky.
The last and very classic scarf is the bow tie. You can wear this look using a traditional silk square, but we really like to wear it using a long rectangle.
Hillary Kerr: All you have to do is tie it around your neck, make a bow, and let the ends hang loosely to the floor. We think it's best to balance this ladylike look by wearing it with a casual base, like this trench and flats.
Until next time, thanks for watching WhoWhatWear TV.
