Gordon: Now Aaron, you guys have decided to use liner in this pond. Why have you decided to go that way instead of earth ponds or cements pond?
Aaron: Liner has a lot of benefits. Number one, liner pond will keep a consistent water level all year round. A clay pond will fluctuate through out the seasons. And a lot of people like to use cement ponds as well however, when the earth shift the concrete will crack and it might last a couple of years toss. So they are a lot of times were we actually install a rubber liner overtop of the existing concrete ponds.
Gordon: I know a lot of people when they compare concrete to this rubber liner, they think concrete strong and a liner is just weak. It is going to rip, it is going to break. They think of maybe like the plastic bag with, this stuff is pretty strong in it?
Aaron: Yes, it is actually stretch up to 200%. That is firestone product it is called EPDM rubber liner. Is it 45mil and it is UV resistance and it will last a lifetime and it also come in a 20 year one.
Gordon: Okay. Now what about sizing? I know that with this pond here, you actually had a huge piece of liner took a boom tract to unload it. Is that something that people are going to have to fight with when they make a pond?
Aaron: Yes, it is. Most of the time, most homeowners do not build a pond larger that there, (Voice Overlap)
We would not suggest it. But yes, it can manage as long as you are careful.
Gordon: Perfect! Now, what about patching, you use the big pond but I know there is people out there right now saying will let just get a whole bunch of little pieces and actually dispatch them together, is that something they can do?
Aaron: I would not suggest that for the homeowner the singing process is very complicated and it can be easy to make a mistake.
Gordon: Stay away by the right size and you reset.
