Rhiannon: Welcome back to Better, joining us today for a hot topic segment is founder of Divalyyscious Moms, also editor, observer Playgirl magazine, Lyss Stern, thanks so much for joining us again. Lyss Stern: Thank you for having me again. Rhiannon: Okay, this month, April's magazine you're talking about what celebrities are feeding their kids so give us the goods, what are they feeding them? Lyss Stern: There's a lot of goods going on. Basically, there’s a big trend, obviously right now with celebrities and their children. Everybody is fascinated about what they're doing, where are they going, what playgrounds they’re on? Rhiannon: You see more pictures of them than the actual celebrities. Lyss Stern: It's amazing what’s going on. So basically what we did is we did roundup and a story of what the celebrities are feeding their children, because everybody wants to know. What does Gwyneth Paltrow feeding Apple and what does Madonna feeding Lourdes? So basically, in our story, we really rounded up the best of the best, and talk about what these celebrity moms and dads are feeding their children. And the trend seems to be that most of them are really trying to go organic, gluten free, healthy. One funny story from a magazine is that you know Madonna, should really does not let Lourdes eat donuts. Rhiannon: No donuts? Lyss Stern: No donuts, no sugar, she’s like very sheik about it. She have a very strict policies, so Lourdes really need to eat organic and healthy foods. Same with Gwyneth Paltrow, Apple is only eating, could she can still control it, organic. Rhiannon: That's what I was going to ask you. So what’s going to happen with these kids when they get older and their parents can't tell them what they’re going to eat? Lyss Stern: That’s a really good question. I guess they won’t able to—I don’t know, maybe we’re see them sneaking into McDonald’s and the Papparazis are going to be there. You know, and they’ll be eating their milk shake. You know, I don’t know, I believe in everything in moderation. I definitely want to feed my children healthy and keep them on a healthy track, but I know that the reality is that they might have a cupcake in a birthday party. I mean they may have a cookie and that’s okay. But these celebrities are really, really from what we're reading about and hearing about, they’re really astringent with these children’s diet. Rhiannon: And Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow are reportedly good friends. Lyss Stern: Very good friends. Rhiannon: So, tell us about this. Lyss Stern: But we also points up like Hugh Jackman really tends to buy his food from the green market, for his children. And it’ll be funny that a lot of the celebrity parents, you will see them shopping from these green markets. And really again, organic fruits and vegetables and produce that are really or just organic and not being processed because we know the processed foods are so bad for us. Rhiannon. Yeah, but those do tend a little bit expensive as well, Lyss Stern: Exactly but they are celebrities, so their budgets might be a little higher than the average person. But yeah, organic food in general, organic turkey meat is so much more expensive that just regular turkey. I mean everything organic is. Rhiannon: Okay, so tell us about some food to eat on the go, that’s another thing. Lyss Stern: Sure, another thing is that parents, especially in Manhattan are so busy and they’re constantly, you know running around and trying to figure what they can they feed their kids and they’re juggling their jobs, and their home life and basically, there are so many different options now where you can get these delicious healthy meals and they’ll deliver them right to you, which is great, there’s Susie’s Supper Club, her food is really delicious, like you can plan out like in a Monday you can go online and you can order exactly what you want. Let me send that to you. Rhiannon: For the whole family? Lyss Stern: For the whole family for the week. Rhiannon: That’s amazing! Lyss Stern: Amazing and delicious. There’s also fresh rack, which we all know is great and it’s just easy, just go online for the week or you know Sunday, you type in everything that you need and then again, it sent directly to you, so you don't have to go to the supermarket, and you don’t have to run around and do all those things, they just sent you directly to you, so it should make your life so much easier. Rhiannon: Yeah, exactly, then you won’t have to feel guilty by not getting dinner. Thank you so much. Lyss Stern: Thank you for having me.
