Adding bluetooth connectivity to your car is as easy as changing the stereo. If you change the stereo for a bluetooth head unit, not only are you going to have bluetooth hands-free calling, but often times you're going to have bluetooth audio. With the hands free calling feature of bluetooth car stereos, you can receive a phone call right to your dashboard. The name of the person is gonna come up on the screen of your stereo, you're gonna press the phone button, answer it, and speak just as if you were talking to somebody in your passenger seat. With that same bluetooth connection, you can play audio out of your cell phone. Press play, and it's gonna come out of your car speakers, just as if it was connected with an auxiliary port. Now the great thing about this is you don't need any wires or anything to play the music. You can leave your phone in the cup holder, on the passenger seat, your pocket book, your pocket, and its gonna play just as if it was built into the dashboard. Bluetooth also enables you to sync your contact list with your car stereo. You can access all of your names and numbers right through the dashboard, and by using the jog wheel, you can select the person you want to call, and press dial. Some units even feature voice dialing, where you can press the button, say the name of the person you want to call, and hands free, you're on your way.
