Dust Free photography presents firefly -V-Zeeion Anti Static Blower Challenge sponsored by Micro- Tools.com

Hello and Welcome to our product challenge. Today, we are going to take the Zeeion by Visual dash then compare it to the firefly NRD. Both of these claim to be anti static blowers, and also while we’re adding, we’ll go ahead and thro in the Giottos Rocket Blower and the KOH jet air.

So, what we’ll do is try to find out and which ones will seat and remove the static charge from our little test volt here. For our comparison, we’re going to use a chef boy or the personal meal size bowl that discovered with cellophane, and I've ever been around the cellophane then hold it on good and tight. And inside of it, we’ve got some polystyrene pellets. These are micro size. We’ll create a static charge on the plastic which will make all the pellets attach to it and we’’’ try to use the blower to de-energize the plastic and make all the pellets strap.

So we’ll just go around and begins it in firearm. Okay?

Now we’ve got all these pellets across the top. We’ll use the Giottos rocket blower. We can make advance around, we can make some fall off because of the vibration. As you can see, they're not all gone so again, let’s go ahead and re energize it. This time, we’ll just try with the KOH jet air blower. Again, we can make advance as some of them fall and as you can see they're not all gone. Okay?

Let’s go ahead and brag against the arms again. Now, we’ll try the Zeeion and this is planned to be an Anti static blower, so all this should be falling. Well, it looks just like the Giottos and the KOH jet air blower, and then it make some dense but they're still there. Okay now, go and rub against the arm again. It’s down.

Now, we’ll use the firefly which is an anti static blower. And you knows the big differences that these are actually falling the stain down with the other blowers just bouncing around a little bit.

So sorry, Zeeion you’ll not meeting the standards of anti static nor what you do any better than the Giottos rocket or the KOH jet air. The only true anti static blower to come out this test is the firefly.

Okay, let’s do one more test here. Another thing we’ve found out with doing all those testing is that when you squeeze the Zeeion with dry hands, my hands are going to moisture, it won’t be as good right now but it’s good in dry hands. Your skin against the silicon creates a static charge on the silicon, so just holding the silicon blower over the pellets.

You see that the pellets are actually coming up and attaching to the plastic. This charge is a problem because we’ve measured it to be at 14000 volts. Then you get that type of voltage near the contacts that most cameras have for talking to the lenses and that being induced in there could damage your camera. So I'm not sure that we should even be using silicon blowers at all.

So what have we learn today in this video? There really is only one anti static blower this is the NRD Firefly available to directly from NRDs web site or other rama.
