Audra Lowe: A couples wedding registry, most everybody registers for the kitchen appliances; the bake ware and of course the bedding but what about the items that you forget and then regret. Well, WeddingChannel.com’s Deputy Editor Sharon Stimpfle has the 411 on those top wedding registry regrets that you definitely don’t want to make. Welcome to the show Miss Sharon.
Sharon Stimpfle: Thanks for having me.
Audra Lowe: It could be overwhelming though when people are starting off for the registry especially if it’s your first time, right?
Sharon Stimpfle: Right, yes. It could definitely be overwhelming so that’s why we want to go over some of the items a couples will really need after they get married.
Audra Lowe: Exactly okay so the first items we have are?
Sharon Stimpfle: The first item that we have is barware. So couples when they register to have thought they aren’t just registering for the wine glasses and more of the form of barware and think about everyday barware. So what we have is here is some margarita glasses for summer entertaining and even beer mugs for everyday entertaining just to complete the bar and have more flexibility when it comes to hosting parties.
Audra Lowe: That would be fully equipped when it’s time—at home as in the bar right?
Sharon Stimpfle: Exactly, exactly.
Audra Lowe: Okay now I see you’ve got ornaments over here.
Sharon Stimpfle: Yes speaking of entertaining after a couple gets married, they are going to be hosting tons of parties with their newly blended family especially for the holidays. So what we have here is some festive platters and some ornaments and the only thing to remember about this is that there are limited editions because they do come out in the holiday season so these are great updates to a couple s registry.
Audra Lowe: And they can become an heirloom.
Sharon Stimpfle: Exactly.
Audra Lowe: You just never know, right?
Sharon Stimpfle: Exactly yes.
Audra Lowe: That’s something I would never have thought. Okay, now let’s go down to the China, a lot of people do register for China but what’s so different here?
Sharon Stimpfle: Well they actually are growing trend in registries is everyday China. They have so many great styles and patterns and this beautiful white China set from Crate and Barrel is actually great to dress down or up and you really can use it for casual entertaining as well as formal entertaining.
Audra Lowe: Okay and they also have to have home décor which is something a lot of people just buy on their own afterwards but chances are you’re going to be redecorating anyway.
Sharon Stimpfle: Exactly. So many couple redecorates their home after they get married so why not add some things on the registry that you really love. We have a vase here but also picture frames are great items. You can even do, they took at items, they great group registry gifts.
Audra Lowe: Okay and last but not least, the serving platters too. I mean obviously very different types. Do you guys recommend registering for two?
Sharon Stimpfle: Two, right, yes. We recommend always registering for a formal platter and an informal platter and that’s just great to have in case you know, you have a formal party, you have something as well as casual entertaining, you always have something for your guests.
Audra Lowe: And you want to make sure you get the things that you really do want not what everybody else wants you to get, right?
Sharon Stimpfle: Exactly yes, exactly.
Audra Lowe: Thanks you so much Sharon. Good to have you here.
Sharon Stimpfle: Thank you for having me.
