Check out this water-like whirlpool coffee table. The highly acclaimed female architect, Zaha Hadid has awed the design world yet again. Her creation, dubbed ‘the liquid glacial table’ is truly one-of-a-kind. Serving as a coffee table, it adds a liquid force, appearing like water is pouring onto the floor. Hadid describes the effect stating “the transparent acrylic material amplifies this perception, adding depth and complexity through a flawless display of infinite kaleidoscopic refractions. The result generates a wonderful surface dynamic that inherits a myriad of colors from its context and continually adapts with the observer’s changing viewpoint”. The table is held up by six legs, created by a whirlpool effect on the surface, so they appear as fast-flowing streams of liquid underneath. There is a shadow effect to the transparent piece, which adds darkened curves and ripples to the tabletop. It is fully functional and can be separated into two pieces. This incredible piece comes with a price tag of $160,000.
