Krista: Goodbye boring and bland, hello vivid and vibrant, turning this bathroom into a colorful and elegant retreat cost us about $24,000. The rate of return on this renovation will be as much as 90% and may increase will be resell value of this home by almost $22,000.
George: I think that one of the greatest things that we accomplished is getting rid of the way.
Kirsten: Goodbye white, we finally have a little color, a little character.
George: A lot of color and a lot of character.
Kirsten: Look at our incredible huge 6 foot long vanity.
George: This maybe is my favorite part.
George: And look no rust springs.
Kirsten: And this is where we’re going to keep it, nothing on the vent, everything goes.
George: I’ll hold you to that one.
George: And Kirsten look at the bathroom I mean first of all it’s huge.
Kirsten: You could actually take us soak in the tub.
George: We now can go from shower back to tub without the pliers.
Kirsten: And look at our beautiful glass tile. I mean it gives me great contemporary look.
George: We carved up this 2x1 space and it gave us so much more room. It makes the bathroom totally different.
Kirsten: Our glass tile mosaic pot that we made sort of brings. Is it a personal touch?
George: I really finished the personal garden thing. We used to have no lighting and now we have in all the lighting we need on dimmers.
Kirsten: I like the fact that they’re not traditional bathroom lights. It’s grand without being ostentatious.
George: Remember the old tiles we used to have, just plain white.
Kirsten: And there’s that huge crack.
George: And now they replaced it with these.
Kirsten: Interesting looking.
George: Combination of tiles.
Kirsten: The floor itself is a masterpiece
George: And we can’t forget we have radiant heat under here.
Kirsten: I know that’s the best part.
George: I love it. I can’t wait to have the warm tootsies in the winter, now we actually have a toilet for adults. I didn’t think I would ever say a toilet is beautiful but I think that I can say legitimately not this toilet.
Kirsten: Yeah, I love the fact that it has; it’s a transitional toilet for carter and Jackson when they’re small and putty trained.
George: I’ll just remember to put this up.
Kirsten: Yes you do.
George: When we heard they were going to do a brown leather wall we weren’t sure.
Kirsten: But it really turned out great and it just add that warmth and I love the fact that we have just new storage and it’s great for the kids because now if you keep all their toys right in here.
George: I think that we’ve got more storage that we can handle. Now we could buy stuff to fill it.
Kirsten: Well I’m going shopping. I’m ready for that.
George: I think we should take this opportunity to say thank you Mark and Krista for everything you did. You really did a great job on the bathroom.
Kirsten: Yeah thank you Martha and Krista we really appreciated all your help.
Krista: I wanted to create an environment that had some contemporary elements. Some cottage elements as well as some more traditional English style elements and bring them all together to make a really cool eclectic design.
