BONY STORY: Dutch league top scorer Wilfried Bony of Vitesse scored again on Sunday (November 25) to beat PSV 2-1 away and move within two points of the championship leaders. Ivorian forward Bony now has 15 goals from 14 matches. The first goal came from PSV in the fifth minute when winger Dries Mertens from Belgium crossed, Vitesse midfielder Jan-Arie van der Heijden failed to clear and the host's Belgian defender Timothy Derijck tapped in from close range. The equaliser came in the 15th minute when Vitesse's Brazilian forward, Jonathan Reis, hit a free kick straight at the defensive wall and the ball deflected into the goal. Reis celebrated by taking his shirt off so got a yellow card. PSV came close to taking the lead again in the 24th minute when Georginio Wijnaldum headed well from a corner, but Vitesse goalkeeper Piet Velthuizen tipped the ball onto the crossbar and it bounced back to ground. PSV appealed for a goal, but the ball had not crossed the line. Bony had a good chance to score in the 43rd minute, but first shot at a defender and then at PSV goalkeeper Boy Waterman. There was a series of misses by both sides in the second half, not least from goal scorer Reis in the 62nd minute, then Bony in the 64th, before the two combined for the winning goal. Midfielder Theo Janssen sent over a cross in the 74th minute which Reis headed down and Bony volleyed into the back of the net. PSV had a couple of good chances to equalise, but Vitesse 'keeper Velthuizen kept out Jeremain Lens in the 81st minute and then Kevin Strootman five minutes from normal time. PSV top the league with 33 points to Vitesse's 31, while third-placed Twente were playing immediately after the leaders' match.
