Vrsar with this population of 1600 used to be a finishing village and in fact it still is. But tourism has become increasingly significant.
It is a romantic sunny, quiet and typical Mediterranean settlement.
Opatija is the most diligent, Pula the biggest, Porec is the richest in monuments and Rovinj is the most romantic.
But for Vrsar is the most beautiful town in the Austria. A quarry use to operate in the town. The stones mine here have been use to build several Lotharian cities from Venice to Robina.
The town wall can be seen only in fragments. Some part of it had been built in the passage of houses.
Steps Street with medieval atmosphere lead to the old town from where there is a wonderful view of the huge cliff remaining from the former quarry the harbor and the islands.
From here, it is best to see the numerous islands of various sizes. Some of which are grassy and some rocky inhabitant and non-inhabitant, but all of which are equally popular among sunbathers and swimmers arriving by boat.
Staying in one of the private homes of the old town, we can enjoy the Mediterranean lifestyle and a central part of which is to siesta after lunch and a social life in the streets since square after sunset.
The crowning glory of the old town is the church built in the 12th Century with the tower of a venetians style. Behind it, the holiday home with the vicious supports can be found.
