Visit the Cardiff Castle in Wales, United Kingdom

Female: So where is Wales? First let’s clarify, its not in England. This distinction is not only correct, it is immensely important to the Welch. Wales is a part of Great Britain along with Scotland and England. The UK or United Kingdom includes the countries of Great Britain as well as Northern Ireland.

Male: Isolated archeological discovery showed there were people in Wales 250 years ago. Monolithic monuments can be found along many the country road, guarding the memory of the entombed as they have for thousand of years. Around 600 BC the Celts began settling in Wales where they prospered for 500 years until the arrival of the Romans. The defiant Celts were never really conquered; they were able to live side by side with the Romans, all the while preserving their language and traditions.

Female: Like their ancestors, the Welch today has tremendous pride in their culture and on going resistance to the domination of their bigger stronger neighbors. They strive to secure their identity and future as a separate nation to the localized government. A passion for their homeland is never afar from the surface.

Male: A good place to start your trip in Wales is the bustling cosmopolitan capital city of Cardiff. The center piece of the city is the 12 century Cardiff castle.

Female: Cardiff Bay lapse quietly next to contemporary hotels, the huge millennium center and the old harbor, during the industrial revolution Cardiff enjoyed tremendous prosperity. Exporting much of the worlds iron and coal, to step back into the past we visited the museum of Welch life where restored buildings from all over Wales represent various periods of history. Animals graze, shop windows display the wears of the day and rooms fill that the iron workers will be home for dinner any minute.
