They let reeds with burning candles float on the water of the vista. Whether we go by car, by bus or by train, it takes less than half an hour to get from Krakow to Katowice. The city is a center of apreservation. For period of time, it belonged to the Czech Republic then for two hundred years, to the Hapsburg Empire and it became part of Poland again in the 18th century. Basically, it’s an industrial and mining city, the economic center of the administrative region with its sites concentrated in the downtown area. The main square and the pedestrian zone that opens from here play defining roles.

We may sit around in the well maintained parks of the city most of which were developed in the last decade. The attraction of Rynek kiss the classicist city theatre, the Visvianski built in 1907. The wooden churches made of large or silver fur trees and the Siletian wooden houses are also famous. These together with other works of folk architecture can be seen in the ethnological museum in Katowice.
