Hoi An City lies south of Hoi and Dalan in the middle of the country. Its beaches a populous site resort and its old town has been part of the world’s heritage since 1999. Despite this, not much reminds us of its former greatness. Hoi An used to be the busiest and most important harbor of all southeast Asia. Air of travels mentioned in the 10th century but it's heyday, starting in the 17th century.

Its harbor was a meeting like for English, French, Dutch and Portuguese commercial ships, Japanese sailing boats and Chinese boats. Among these ships beautiful Lucian clippers, the fastest boats ever built lay an anchor. All the fitments of the boats were made of copper, brass, and mahogany. Their sails are made up of the best canvas and they were always left with brand new boats, wrote James Carlel who always brought the exotic eastern mind in his adventure stories.

The main attraction of the city is the Ornate covered bridge which was built by Japanese tradesmen. Tradesmen often waited for months for favorable wind to get home. Until the wind arrived in Hoi An, they hired houses and store houses for their products waiting for transport. Many of them married a Vietnamese woman and didn’t want to sail away anymore. However, if he did, he left administrators here so that the business could go on smoothly. Initially, the majority of the people were Japanese, but then by the 18th century the member of the Chinese tradesmen reached 10,000. Their colony was divided into groups according to their place of origin. They build an ornate hall, which functions as a real community house. It was used for meetings and as a church built on honor of their ancestors.

The flourish was ended by the slow natural filling of the two bone rivers. After this, the big ocean docked in the night. Foreign traders walk around the streets of the city even today, so that they can make purchases for their shops. And of course, individual customers and tourist who like bargaining for nice spam, rice paper lamp or bamboo basket, also come here.

Wood carvings from here are famous for their nice work all over the country. Rice papers used to make lamps and lamp skins which are popular abroad. Colorfully painted fans of various sizes were made of rice papers, but exercise books and photo albums are also bound in it.

In my pictures are made by soulful hands and endless patience. They're special because of the wood, captain hair, bark strips, bamboo and raffia pieces and of various colors of which forms the picture. In local restaurant, music such as this is presented to those interested in genuine, original culture.

4 kilometers of Hoi An we can find nee-san, the religious center of that kind of civilization which also belongs to the world heritage. The brick buildings which can be seen even today, were built in the 6th century but there have been wooden sanctuaries here 2 centuries before. For 6 centuries, the successive monarchs have temples built one after another in honor of kings and gods. This forms became mixed in their faith. The importance of nee-san started to decrease after flourishing for 6 centuries and for another 6 centuries it was forgotten totally.

Only at the end of the 19th century did French archeologists write its ruins. They started to excavate it and then politics interfered. Only 25 towers of the former 70 towers can be seen today. Though the Americans did everything to destroy the monument. Vietnamese gorillas hid among the ruins, making the area a favorite target of bombers. The outer appearance of the group of temples reminds of Ayu-thai but especially Angkor. The wood appearance of its peak is no longer visible, the shape of the remaining red brick tower is similar to the Kamera religious centers of the region. But we mustn’t forget, but in the case of nee-san we’re talking about cam culture, which maybe older than that of the Kamera.

Angko in Cambodia, which is the biggest building complex of this type and a region was built around 1100 when nee-san had already been built. It had been built by the Tampa monarchy, who lived in what is the 7th part Vietnam today and rebelled against Kamer monarchs invaded and burned Angkor. 2 or 3 centuries later, Thai King attacked and burned the reconstructed anchor and they built their own capital Ayu-thaya.

Nee-san is also interesting not only because of it's history but also its architecture. Which become a custom to the habit of lying with bricks and mortar mixed with cement and lime. Here the bricks were stuck together with the kind of brisance from a pimite plant. Around the finish building, a bonfire may have been built to help the materials solidify. In this world, they got 6 strong bindings without gaps that it became possible to call of the release directly in the brick walls. Near the ruins, graceful dancers offer folk dances to entertain the visitors.
