There is a smaller island that is a part of St. Croix because of its extensive underwater flora and fauna Buck Island has been set aside as a national monument in order to protect it’s treasures. It’s located around the half hour sail from Christiansen harbor.
Buck Island reef national monument is 6,000 feet long and a half mile across. It also consists of 704 acres of water with the coral reef system and snorkel trail so impressive that cruises here have become a popular day trip.
