Unique Old World Textures
I know so many people that hate painting prep if this is you I have a perfect technique with a little bit of tissue paper and a little bit of paint we’re going to add texture and dimension to your walls. It doesn’t get much simpler than this. No cleaning, repairing, priming or base coatery required because the crinkle paper wraps up all the work for you. This technique is so easy if you have a tissue paper you’re ready to go.
Even the supplies are easy. All you need is paint tray, any latex paint, a roller and some tissue paper. My tissue paper is 20x24 so I need to start with an area painted at least that big. This technique goes on fast will an area of the wall that is slightly bigger than the piece of tissue paper that you’re using. Next step is how the finish gets it’s name.
I’m prikling up the tissue paper so it has a little bit of texture to it when I put it on the walls. See just like that. You’re going to open up your crinkle paper and it’s going to adhere to the wet wall. Grab your roller, load it with paint and rollover the tissue paper. If you don’t like the way it lays against the wall smooth it with your fingers before painting it again. Tear out excess paper around the edges, corners and base board.
So I’m overlapping my tissue so I don’t have any flat areas and you could push it around, smoosh it work it in. It’s so easy. One more crinkly tip keep your paper straight. I like to apply my tissue paper in an even line so that way I know that I will not miss any texture on the walls. Quick easy sensational, next time you get a gift wrapped in tissue paper think painting project for such a beautifully textured walls everyday we’ll seem like a holiday.
You could take this technique one step further if I color wash and glaze on it you’re going to achieve an old world feel. Why keep elegance on the wraps.
