Thousands of protesters take to the streets of Egypt, demanding the reinstatement of President Mohammed Morsi. They marched in major cities chanting "down with military rule". Two people died in clashes with security forces on Friday....but over the past few weeks hundreds -- most of them Muslim Brotherhood supporters -- have been killed in demonstrations like these. The protests come one day after the Interior Minister survived an apparent assassination attempt. A car bomb targetted his convoy. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD SUPPORTER AMR THARWAT, SAYING: "Yesterday's explosion is the full responsibility of the Interior Ministry. They claim that they are protecting the country, then they're supposed to say who did what. They are known to have a bad history of creating and fabricating explosions to blame on Islamist groups or the Muslim Brotherhood. They should come out and say who's responsible for the bombing and destruction. They've committed many fake events and blamed the Islamic groups so they could justify unnecessary arrests, killing people, and stripping them of their freedoms." The military authorities launched a crackdown on the Islamist group after President Mursi was ousted in July. Dozens of senior Brotherhood leaders have been detained over allegations of inciting violence and murder. And the clashes are only likely to get worse as the government presses on with a judicial campaign to neutralise Egypt's biggest political movement by revoking its legal status.
