The Twisted Dropper Loop
Welcome to a fishing knot instruction video from videofishingknots.com. In this video I will show you how to tie a twisted dropper loop and the first step is to twist the line and you do that by making circle movements with your thumb and your index finger in opposite directions and when you do so, you will start to form a twisted spiral in the middle of the line. So the first step is to twist the line to get this twisted spiral in the middle and it should look something like this.
When you are satisfied with the length of your twisted spiral, you will continue to just tying an ordinary dropper loop and you do that by forming a loop or circle in the line like this and then you take the standing part and you put it through that big circle, a loop like that and that forms a second loop up here and you twist that loop around itself three to four times, so that was one time and you twist it once more, one complete wrap. That was two, and three, and finally, four times and then you will end up with something like this. You have a gap up here, that is created by all the wraps and then you take the twisted part of this twisted spiral and you put it through that gap.
So take your spiral and put it through and put it through that gap up there like that. And now you just basically pull the knot tight, you can hold a little bit here, you pull this standing part, and the tag end, and you push the knot tight, push and pull the knot tight like this and by doing so, the knot will be pulled tight and you end up with a nice twisted dropper loop and the advantage of this loop is that the dropper will be a bit more stiff and that is a good thing for some fishing applications.
To attach a hook to your twisted dropper loop, you simply take the twisted spiral and you put it through the hook eye and then you unwrap it a little bit like that and you put the hook through and then you simply pull the spiral like that and now you will have your hook nicely attached to your twisted dropper loop.
