Great design meets the great outdoors. We’re creating amazing spaces, affordable ideas for spectacular outdoor rooms.
Here I am in a beautiful outdoor setting, great planting, great natural stone. But you know what’s missing? A place to land. I’m going to change all that with romantic, beautiful outdoor bistro style. So here’s the plan, I’m creating a perfect outdoor bistro, colorful, simple and inviting. I’ll start by warming up the area with charming accessories, next bistro style rod iron furniture will create a romantic space for relaxing and dining and you want to stick around. Extra accents will really bring this look together.
Simple shutters can change the look of your home but guess what, they could also change the look of your garage. This is our backdrop. Not very exciting, kind of bland. But inexpensive prepainted shutters from the hardware store on either side instantly create character and romance. So check this out, we took a bland window and wall that wasn’t doing anything and we added some shutters, we added a window box, a couple lanterns and presto chango, all of a sudden, you’ve got that bistro feel happening.
Next thing up, a bench right here to create a wonderful seating area. The bench plays off the surrounding greenery then patterned pillows and potted flowers add pops of color. Now we have a great place to eat and relax. The main attraction for outdoor bistro is the rod iron table and chairs and rod iron works because it has delicate curves and excellent detailing. But it’s sturdy enough to withstand the great outdoors. As always, accessories are the key to bringing any style together and in this case, it’s about mixing solids with patterns and following the colors and the patterns in your flowers and your other accessories and never feel like going too bold is a mistake.
Bright colored plates, pillows and accessories along with a serving table matching our color scheme add visual interest to this outdoor room but to really set the bistro tone, we need candlelight and lots of it. Candles enclosed in tabletop, in hanging lanterns are inviting, romantic and they totally beg you to sit back and stay awhile. So we went from a blank canvas back patio to romantic bistro style. The cool thing about outdoor bistro dining is that you can create more than one seating area just like your favorite restaurant, your main dining area, a lounge space and a great place to kick back with a glass of wine and enjoy the view. Cheers everyone.
