How to Choose the Right Bedding

You know, there are many options and styles for bedding. So come with me and I’ll show you some of my best-kept secrets.

Since this is where you spend a third of your day, the perfect bedding can make the difference between a good day and a bad day. And it’s only fitting that you choose something that you can wake up in the morning, feel really rested, and looks good as well

So the first thing I want to focus on are your sheets. Now, sheets come in different thread counts. The higher the thread count, the softer the sheet. A standard quality sheet starts around 250, but if you really want to pamper yourself, try those 800 to 1,000 thread count sheets.

For comforters, you also have several choices. Now, you can go with a standard comforter, like I have here, or you can choose a duvet cover. Now, duvet covers are awesome to encase your down comforters or for hiding your existing comforter.

Another option is a coverlet. Now, I have a coverlet here. And a coverlet is really similar to a quilt, but it’s great for the warmer months and also adds a decorative accent to any bedding. So you can have your comforter on your bed and then put the coverlet on the end.

Another area where you have many choices is the bed skirt department. Now, bed skirts work well for dressing up the bottom of the bed, hiding the box spring, the bed legs, or even your under-the-bed storage.

So here I have a few choices. I have a scalloped edge. I have a ruffled bed skirt as well as a box pleat. Now, they all have different looks, but they certainly serve the same purpose. So just like the rest of the bedding, this also has an important role, because it can tie in all the colors of the room together in one single bed skirt. And it’s often the perfect accessory next to your decorative pillows.

Now, I love decorative pillows, so let’s talk a little bit about them. Two or three decorative pillows can create a cozy and refined look. Too many pillows can just overwhelm your space.
