George Zimmerman will make his first court appearance Thursday after second-degree murder charges were filed against him. 

Fox News reports the charges carry a maximum of life in prison …

“ … and unlike a manslaughter charge, it will require prosecutors to prove Zimmerman killed Martin intentionally and not in self-defense as he claims.”

Both sides appear to be respecting the cease-fire deadline in Syria.
