An international court has sentenced former Liberian President Charles Taylor to 50 years in prison for his role in the Sierra Leone war crimes.

“The presiding judge, Richard Lussick described Mr. Taylor’s crimes as among the most heinous in human history. They included murder, rape and enslavement.”



Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has lost his appeal against extradition to Sweden in the U.K. Supreme Court.


Fox News reports he has one last chance at an appeal with the European Court of Human Rights in France.



“If that doesn’t work, he will be sent to Sweden for questioning immediately. Once there, he could also face extradition to the United States, where he would be prosecuted for releasing hundreds of thousands of classified documents on his Wikileaks website.”



Mitt Romney reached the magic number of 1,144 delegates with his Tuesday night win in the Texas primary.


It won’t be official until the Republican National Convention at the end of August.


Meanwhile, CNN says the discussion’s focused on one of Romney’s supporters.

 

 

“After last night’s Texas primary win, Romney now has more than enough delegates to clinch the Republican nomination. But hardly anyone is talking about that this morning. Instead, it is all about Donald Trump and Barack Obama’s birth certificate.”

 

 

 

 

The Associated Press reports Poles are angered by President Obama’s “Polish death camps” gaffe Tuesday, but they hope the attention will help clarify the issue to others.
