The Taliban says an explosion in a typically peaceful part of Afghanistan’s capital, is a signal to newly-appointed U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel.   ITV reports a suicide bomber killed at least nine people, attacking Afghanistan’s ministry of Defence in Kabul. Fourteen others were injured after the bomber rode his bicycle up to a main gate at the ministry.   Confirmed just over a week ago to head the Pentagon, Hagel is set to meet with Afghan President Hamid Karzai during what Hagel has called a “decisive time” in the War in Afghanistan. (Via Fox News )   And in China, the government is once again on the defensive over cyber hacking allegations.   Chinese leadership has aggressively rebuked claims from U.S. cyber security firm Mandiant that the People’s Liberation Army has run an elite hacking unit out of this Shanghai facility. (Via BBC )   According to Bloomberg , the nation’s foreign minister, Yang Jiechi, said Saturday accusations were purely political and “may have crossed the eyes of many people but actually they are built on shaky ground.”   And protesters in Egypt have set fire to a club frequented by police officers in Cairo. Al Jazeera reports this comes in retaliation to a court confirming death sentences for 21 Port Said soccer fans accused of sparking riots last year, killing 74 people.   Swelling crowds crushed spectators during those soccer riots last February, and witnesses say police who could have intervened instead stood idly by.
