Audra Lowe: We are ready, it’s time for hot topics and we’ve got lifestyle expert Cathy Riva here with us. Welcome back Cathy. Cathy Riva: Thank you. Audra Lowe: Good to see you. And I know earlier we are talking a lot about hosting dinner parties and what you should and should not do and some great tips for you but about this article on lemondrop.com and they talked about whether hosting a dinner party is more stressful than your job and apparently your shaking your head and a lot people say yes that it is. Cathy Riva: Here is why, I mean think about it. You go to work everyday it’s something that you do so why would you be expected to all the sudden be the happy homemaker entertainer when you only do at once a year or maybe twice a year. Audra Lowe: But is it really that stressful. I’ll let you answer that in just a second, let me tell you what this survey I’ve found, 57% of the people that they surveyed about having a dinner party cause in rang I didn’t there daily commute which my do this year. And I just going to say, a quarter of them said they would be less freak out by a job interview. 36% said that they typically afraid over what’s going on the kitchen if they ask goes and so forth and so on and 33% actually get worried about they’re guest start on yawn. Our people really this seriously worried about what’s going to be happen at the dinner party. Cathy Riva: They are, I definitely seen even on my own family, if people they have this great idea that they want to place everyone at the table and often times this parties are vey big and it’s a full time job and I worked everyday and I have a stuff that helps me. Audra Lowe: Right. Cathy Riva: So I mean could you imagine doing all by yourself all the time? Audra Lowe: So do you think it’s because people have on realistic expectations about entertaining there friends is that really want is boils down too? Cathy Riva: I do, and my advice is to focus on what’s really impact for importance so I would say the host being happy is the most important thing. Great music takes your attention and off a lot of vibes too. Policies and then our great tip for the kitchen is coming on sequester but I find that warming trays are a life start that you prepare in advance and you’ve got all these great food that you keep on warming trays and then hot at the same time. Audra Lowe: Yeah and I’m glad you mention a food too because 16% said that they admitted to going to the store buying food and passing it off as the roaming. You said that the number is a little low. Cathy Riva: I think people probably do that a lot, I done that. Audra Lowe: Yeah. Cathy Riva: And I don’t even pass it off as my own. I think that whenever you need help ask for it and if the grocery has a better prepared cheese cake or a better prepared you know fabulous dessert that you can’t make then buy it. Audra Lowe: Yeah exactly. Cathy Riva: It’s fantastic; I don’t think any of your friends are feel upset if they’re having something that start about versus made if you are happy. Audra Lowe: And if they do then I’ll coming next year. Cathy Riva: Yeah. Audra Lowe: The next thing that also stressful is the holiday work party too. Again, something that most people do every single year but you feel like you can a gone down puppeteer always in your rules to come out and there is another article they said you have to make sure when you go to the holiday office party active is your being observe because you are and then you say yes you definitely watch. Cathy Riva: I do, I think that I’m— especially in this times a holiday party is a very nice just for the companies is going to give to the employees and then I really want to everyone to network and mingle and meet new people and some great opportunity to trine with up with corporate letter but it’s not a great opportunity to have a really great time to pick up your shoes. Audra Lowe: Hang out. Cathy Riva: Yeah, it’s not the appropriate place to relax. We really need to act like it’s almost like a job interview and you treat it with respect. Audra Lowe: And can’t relax when the pictures come around too because it never fails. Someone comes around to takes a picture that you got it and drinking your hand and the number one rule this seeing to some around. Make sure that you put the drink down out of frame so that people can’t see it. Cathy Riva: That’s a really hard will to follow, but if they can just think about yeah, exactly. Audra Lowe: Keeping too much to drink. Cathy Riva: Keeping it out of frame is probably an important thing. Yeah you know it’s nice to see your pictures and happy faces are not. Audra Lowe: Right, last that they about those. Cathy Riva: I know somebody roles now. Audra Lowe: Yeah, lot of roles. But send us your though. I would love to know what you think on twitter.
