Chicago Police estimate 10,000 of the city's striking public school teachers rallied outside of CPS Headquarters in the Loop
...
Monday afternoon.
They snarled traffic for close to two hours and brought downtown workers to their windows and out of their office doors to watch.
In their first strike in a quarter century, about a third of the teachers and support staff in the nation's third largest school system wore red, chanted and waved signs, mostly directed at Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
