iRobot Roomba 560 - Unboxing

What’s up guys and girls? Jon Rettinger here, and I’ve got a fun unboxing for you. As you can see it’s the iRobot Roomba 560, and this little disc is actually a vacuum cleaning robot.

I’m not going to lie. I don’t vacuum all that often. It’s not that I’m lazy and generally it just that I forget to vacuum. The day gets busy you know, I clean my kitchen on generally a pretty clean guy, but I do forget to vacuum and I have a cat that you will see guys towards the end of this video, and she sheds like nobody’s business.

So, the cat here tends to stuck up until I look around and I need to remember the vacuum, so this iRobot Roomba I’m hoping will be a really nice solution for that. You will set this it automatically vacuum at anytime you want. It will vacuum carpet and hard floors and you can do up to four rooms on one single charge and then it will roll, it’s little way back to the charger and charge itself, so I’m really excited to see this thing works as advertised, and hopefully to have the cleanest carpet and floors and all—my complex.

So, let’s go ahead and it get the unboxing here and let’s see what we’ve got. First thing it says, iRobot Roomba on the front vacuum clean robot 5th generation. I had a I think a first generation Roomba while back and I’m hoping that technology has improved since then.

This is the 560 and it will run 380 bucks from iRobot.com, I’ll put a link on the sidebar if you want to learn more about the iRobot Roomba 560. So, it will clean four rooms on a single charge. It got a scheduling system so you can set it clean when it’s most convenient, so you can set it to clean while you’re at work and just let it do with sync.

The cool thing is got a self-charging home base, so it will just right back and charge itself and it comes with two virtual walls which will confine it from —confine it or guide it from room to room, so if you want to keep it in a certain area you send off to another room it will do that for you. So, we’ve got a picture on the front, on the side it just says, vacuum cleaning robot. The picture of the Roomba and it looks like it’s the same thing on the other side.

So, let’s go ahead and begin it. This is a new unit or a refurb but let’s check it out. Either way I just hope that it works and it works as advertised. So I’ll use the obligatory, a bigger knife to open this thing up and I hope you guys can see but peaking in here to see what’s going to be cleaning up 2:35 is my cat will just run off and I’ll show you here just a second.

So, let’s go ahead and finish opening this thing up. See where it cut. Alright, so open that side. I think this thing is pack very tightly. It will open the other side up there we go. Here you go. Alright, so we’re going to cut tape there we go or a little bit of that timing required to open one in the big boxes.

So, there’s a massive amount of Styrofoam go and slide it out. A little harder to get it out and it looked, so it’s more complicated than the phone unboxing I’ll tell you that much, there we go.

Alright, so we’ve got it out of the box, let’s see what we have some cardboard. We’ve got some instructions which are not to be instructions guide but I’ll probably we’ll take a look at this. Pull out the Styrofoam and it does look like this is brand new unit so that is nice, let’s see what we have. We’ve got the Roomba right here. I’ll take a look at that in just the moment. Be sure that we have a filter as well which is nice. We have the red keys, another reason to look at the directions. I’ve got these two virtual wall that’s kind of neat, and this must be the power direct and the home charging base.

So, like I said I will use this for a little while and do it for you. I’m really excited. I might even do a video showing you guys what it looks like in action so you might not be familiar with it. So, let’s take a look at some of the other things that it says on the box here. Schedule the vacuum when it’s most convenient, whether you’re at home or on the go, awesome. Virtual wall light houses keep the Roomba cleaning in one room and guide it to the next. —returns to its home base. It easily cleans harder each places on your bed and your own frontier, side brushes reach the corners along edges to remove dust, dirt and debris. Soft adjustment carpet to hardwood floors automatically.

I don’t have hard floors but I may someday. Now, I’ve got a little robot to vacuum, kind of neat just as a techno guy I’m really excited to see how this little robot works. Hope you enjoy it. So, it’s having a Roomba that I can set to vacuum on a daily basis while I’m out will be quite a nice thing to have.
