Audra Lowe: I want to go shopping for the latest fall trends but our budgets don’t always let us go wild but never fear, because some the stuff right in your own closet. From season past is still on style. Here’s Sarah Bernard, she’s showing us what’s okay to keep rocking this fall.
Sarah Bernard: I’m Sarah Bernard from Yahoos “The Thread” and right about now, all the stores are filling up with fall fashions. But before you go and spend a lot of money, check out what’s in your closet because a lot of the styles from last fall are right on trend for this year too.
One of the big trends from last fall were men’s wear inspired vest and we are still seeing them everywhere for this year. You see them in music videos; in gossip girl and Kelsie, right here is wearing a great example of one from this season.
This black vest is from Charlotte Russe and it’s a great price. It’s $24.99. We’re also paring it with something that was another trend from last fall that’s vague again, a pair of leggings and what’s great about this is they’re a little fancier. They’re full leader obviously real leader pants would cost you—it can even cost you thousands of dollars. But these are from blank denim and they’re only 78.
And the key to wearing this kind of an outfit since it is men’s wear inspired is to soften it up and make it a little feminine. So we’re pairing it with a really sweet soft, pink barren t-shirt, which kind of bring the whole up together.
Okay you guys, now it’s my turn. So here’s another example of a recycle trend from last fall, the motor cycle jacket. This one is a great example of the trend, its crops so it’s very flattering even with a dress. That’s the other thing. You can pair this thing will really fancy dresses and they just look fantastic.
It’s actually from HNM and it’s a great buy of $49.95 and another great trend that was around last fall, last spring and over the summer are statement necklaces. I’d love this one. This is a great example of a neon and pearls statement necklace and if you don’t have already have one in your jewelry box from a couple seasons ago, you can pick this one up from Forever 21, its’ a great buy at $15.80.
Last fall and also this past summer, one shoulder or A-symmetrical dresses were really, really big and they are still in style for this coming fall. So this is a dress form HNM. It’s gorgeous hot pink neon chiffon. I love the way the flirty raffles. Just make the dress little more romantic.
Now we love to pair something that’s kind of feminine and flirty with something a little tougher to go with it. We’ve got a pair of lazy great tights with some edgier ankle boots. And this ankle boots are actually from one of our favorite designer’s Christian Siriano who is a project runway Milan.
Just last fall, he was starting out now he’s already got this big deal with payless only $49.99 and we just love the way that this look comes together when you pair them both.
So these fall, save some money by going shopping in your own closet.
Audra Lowe: And of course, you can always hit the very back of your closet for those 80’s trends that you never got around to throwing away. You remember them, shoulder pads, the ankle boots and yes, even asset wash jeans. They’re all back again this fall.
