My name is Michelle Dittrich and I'm a make up artist. I've done make up on a lot of celebrities: Pam Anderson, Kanye West, Lenny Kravitz, Cynthia Nixon. There's a big misconception that "I could never do that look on the runway and you absolutely can. Everybody can. You'll play to your best attributes, and I can show you how to do that. One mistake that I see a lot of women make with foundation is mismatching and getting the "telling line". My idea is that a foundation should look natural and give a flawless finish but also match your neck. The best way to find your best shade is to do three different foundation shades. With a Q-tip, or your finger, just small amounts on your face, see which one matches by gently rubbing it in, it should dissipate into your skin easily and also, once you've decided upon one of those, put a little dot onto your neck, because sometimes peoples necks are darker than their face but you don't want to go darker with your make up because your face throughout the day will also create oils, moisture, pollution. Everything! It all affects your make-up, powder, etc. It will darken it throughout the day. So if you already have a foundation thats too dark and that happens, it's going to get even darker and your mistakes are going to be more prevalent. So, just make sure you're following those steps and you will have a flawless finish.
