The Hottest Handbags for Dads
Female: Talk about options with Father’s Day less than a week away you're probably wondering what you're going to get dad, why do we wait unto the last minute. Well Pamela Pekerman founder of Bagtrends.com is here with the hottest Father’s Day accessories for every type of dad. Hi Pam!
Pamela Pekerman: Hi!
Female: Nice to have you and why do we wait into the last minute. Can you believe that?
Pamela Pekerman: You know sometimes we think it’s so much easier to shop for the mom because there's so many options you can do jewelry, you can do accessories but you can do handbags for men just as long as you know what type of dad you have or what type of brother- in-law however the men is in your life. So we have outlined four different styles of men and we’re going to start with the classic CEO.
Female: So if you're dad is a business type, if he goes to the office every day.
Pamela Pekerman: Exactly. He’s definitely sleek and sheik and looking for those classic colors. He’s not going to do you know pop of pink obviously. So we have these great briefcases, this one is from Cole Hahn. It has a great pebbled leather finish so if he’s on the go and running around it’s not going to scuff up. It retails for 795, very pricey but definitely an investment for the CEO.
A bit softer for the refined, finer CEO this one is from Coach. It retails for under $500. Again, very expensive for the CEO, it’s about an investment for a long term because these are bags he’s not really going to change. He’s not like us; he’s not going to change it every year.
Female: Not every season.
Pamela Pekerman: Yeah.
Female: But you can maybe get the whole family to chip in on one of those bags.
Pamela Pekerman: Exactly, it’s something that maybe all the siblings chip in and maybe mom comes in to the picture as well. And a little luxury for the dad who is the CEO is collar stay from Links of London. My husband actually tested these, they're quite fabulous. He said they're very wide and very thick and they're very good. They retail for $90 at Links of London store.
Female: And they’ll just keep your collar—
Pamela Pekerman: And they’ll keep your collar upright and you look fabulous when you're in meetings.
Female: Okay, what if your dad travels a lot for work?
Pamela Pekerman: Okay for the jet setter you want to make sure he has garment bags so this one is actually from Bodi which is an amazing company. They do a lot of amazing pieces for the man on the go. This one has a canvass body finish. It retails for under $300, again pricey but these are pieces that you're not going to change up every year even every five years.
Another great piece if he’s only going for 2 to 3 days, he doesn’t want to check anything in because he’s always fast on the go this sport sacks makes a great roller that retails for $150 at 24-incher so it’s pretty much an all standard airline you can take it on the plane.
This is probably my favorite. This is from Gerca, it’s a tie case I'm obsessed. It retails for 225 and for the busy guy who’s always traveling this is a very—this is the best, best gift I think on the table.
Female: Your husband uses this?
Pamela Pekerman: My husband does. I stole his ties. This is a great piece definitely for anybody who travels even if he comes to travel once or twice a year it’s a great piece. Again, something maybe everybody can chip in for.
Female: Exactly. So what if your dad is more of a creative type, maybe these are a little too fancy for him.
Pamela Pekerman: Yeah if he’s a little bit quirky, maybe he’s an artist, maybe he’s a rocker, maybe he’s a free lancer he has options in terms of prints. Again, I would go with the sports type because you can do the stuff all. It reached out for about $108 in any print. This kind has a tacky print where you can do skulls, you can do collar. They have over 100 options and definitely the sports sack.
Female: And they got the schools on this.
Pamela Pekerman: Exactly, this is from Yak Pak, it retails for $10 [Voice overlap]. Yeah 10 buck’s trifold wallet. Again 26 options, this one retails for $10 and it’s a skull print. Again, something fun for the creative dad.
Female: What if your dad is sporty? He likes to go out and hang with the guys play basketball.
Pamela Pekerman: Hang with the guys so he definitely needs a gym bag. Again Yak Pak, this is the same as the wallet it retails for $20. It comes with the—
Female: 20 bucks?
Pamela Pekerman: 20 bucks and it comes with a lifetime warrantee. So if anything happens to it you can turn it to Yak Pak and for $20 they’ll send you a new one. Now if the dad is nautical, this is from Coach it’s their stripe vintage taut it retails for $250. Really great, he’s boating, he likes to be outdoors during the summer this is for the sheik sporting dad. And he would probably be having his board shorts from Coach as well which reach up for $128 and if he’s on the beach on the go playing volleyball this is for the sporty dad he’s going to love it.
Female: Yeah your mom is going to like those too your dad is going to look cute.
Pamela Pekerman: Yeah.
Female: Thanks so much.
Pamela Pekerman: Thank you.
