They've grown gardens on rooftops, turned vacant lots into mini-parks and recently had a ribbon-cutting ceremony on a state-of-the-art aquaponic greenhouse that will provide fruits, vegetables and fresh fish to area residents. Many of the efforts are organized through a non-profit Christian organization called The Simple Way.
