Hi, this is Paul Huppert with OnlineLessonVideos.com. In this lesson we’ll be working on the timeless Christmas tune The First Noel. It will be in the key of D major and we’ll be covering two different octave ranges. I hope you enjoy the lesson.
Keep in mind when playing this arrangement of The First Noel that essentially we’re using allegato stroke throughout or very singing like tone rather like if you have a paintbrush on your hand you want a lot of pliability or flexibility in the wrist and fingers which tends to soften the bow changes somewhat and make everything a little more seamless. Let’s start at the beginning.
And here open A is perfectly fine. You can placendo a bit to this point as the down beat of measure seven and then after that you can taper finishing off the phrase.
