Learn about the 2010 Toyota Auris with Full Hybrid
Host: Toyota is freshening up the compact Auris, a symbol of comfort,
spaciousness and reliability, ever since its debut in 2007. And this will
stay this way also with the faith. The new Auris made its first appearance
to the International Motoring Press in Barcelona.
Changes in the car’s looks ought to be admired from front to rear. Apart
through its updated front end, the Auris also boasts new design of the rear
lights, confirming the cars connection to its bigger brother the Avensis.
Toyota has also jazzed up the interior using the materials which not only
look better but also feel more class and sophisticated. Improved
ergonomics ensures and even more refined driving experience. Right now,
the Auris costumer has the choice of two-gasoline and three-diesel engines
setup through Toyota’s optimal drive eco concept for superior power on
low emissions.
Even the smallest details have been considered, lightweight constructions
and low friction not being invisible from outside but helping to enhance
efficiency all around. The engine range will be rounded off from the
course of the year by a hybrid drive unit.
Allain Uyttenhoven: With the Auris, we will offer a hybrid in a standard—I would say normal
body shape. At Toyota, we have been producing hybrid cars in Europe
since 1997 for our costumers. But now, the customer will have the choice
between diesel, petrol and hybrid. And on top of that, you could say that
customers who wanted to have hybrid in normal shape will have this with
the Auris.
Host: The Toyota family will soon receive a hybrid engine. The objective is to
offer a hybrid throughout the entire range for the IQ upward. The Auris
HSD will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show early March.
