Tech Review - Part 1: Microsoft XBOX

Hello again. My name is Rodney Reynolds and this is yet another video review. Today, I will be looking at Microsoft XBOX gaming console and this is the XBOX, let me just go over a few things here as to what’s included. Of course you get the main unit here. You get one controller as well as an audio-video cable and these are actually gold tipped, and you get a power cable as well and of course you get the manual.

And now let me just have a closer look here at the main unit itself, have a look at the front here, these ports here, and you have four of them. They are for the gaming controllers, this is the eject button for popping out the CD-DVD game tray right here and this right here is the power ON and power OFF. If you look at the back here, this is actually a network cable. This is the audio-video cable connector right here, and right here is the power connector.

Let’s have a closer look at this controller, a very well laid-out. It is really a fair sized controller actually and really is meant to be used I thing for a male’s hand. It is kind of much bigger than other console controllers and that’s what I find.

One thing about to mention about this controller there’s an area here in the top of the controller and this is the XBOX controller expansion slots and you can of course put things in here like the like the XBOX memory units in these two slots right here.

Let me now turn on the XBOX, and I’ll show you the way that the tray ejects as well as the way it’s powered on here. If you can see here is the power button right here, and when you do turn it on you could see that there is a green flashing light that’s around the eject button. Of course all I would now do is press the “eject” and it will open the tray. You can either insert your DVD if you have a DVD kit that’s required with this as an optional component or you could just start playing your games.

Of course it’s very simple. You just pop in your CD here and push it in, once that’s done of course the game will start to play and I should also mention that the hook-up of this is very very simple to do. You just connect this into the back where the audio video cable goes connected and this would go into your TV. It is very, very simple when you’re hooking this up to a sophisticated audio video system or whether you are connecting this up to just a plain television set.

I will now have a look at the XBOX menus as well look at some games, the games that I will be looking at today are Oddworld, Munch’s Odyssey, Project Gotham as well as Halo.
