Tech Review - OCZ Rally High Performance USB2 Flash Memory Drive

Hello again, my name is Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today, I am looking at the OCZ Rally High Performance USB 2. Dual Channel Flash Memory Drive. Included in this package is a USB 2, extension cable, a neck strap and the USB 2 Flash Drive. There are many USB 2 flash drives out in the market and they are all very fast and extremely convenient for storing any kind of digital media.

The OCZ Rally Flash Drive has taken up to a new level by implementing leading edge dual channel technology. This technology is already employed in today’s motherboard memory. The dual channel memory simply results in better overall memory bandwidth which means faster performance than non-dual channel memory. Since this product is the only one currently to use that technology, it’s set apart from the others in the performance department. The results are coming up later on in the video review.

This product is high speed, 2.0 certified, true plug-and-play available in 512MB, 1GB and 2GB capacities. It is also very tiny. So it can be stored just about anywhere. Just be careful not to misplace it.

I know I have left this flash drives in my clothing occasionally and they even ended up in the wash a couple of times and yes thankfully, it survived the washes. However, don’t do this because it will void the warranty.

The casing is aluminum so it looks great and the cap here can be easily removed. So the main part just gets plugged into a USB 2 port. And here is the Blue LED status light which will blink when it’s being accessed and let us not forget this product comes with a lifetime warranty.

How in the heck can you leave today without having a USB flash drive if you’re into digital media? I know myself, I use one. It’s 2 GB in size and it is a godsend because you can put just about anything on it. It’s fast, reliable. You can take it with you every time you leave the home or the office that way if something wants to happen to for example, your mail file or other important documents, you got it in your pockets. So you don’t have to worry about it.

Now this particular unit, you can get performance up to 30% faster than other USB 2 flash drives. Now 30% might not seem a lot but every single day transferring large files is going to mean a tremendous amount of time saving in the end. Overall, this is a 100% kick-ass product.
