Hello again, I'm Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today I'm looking at two Arctic-Cooling coolers, the 4ProL and the 2L.
What is included in each of these packages is a case batch. Some thermal compound. And the cooler.
Now let’s have a closer look at each one of these coolers. First of all, the 4ProL. Well, this one’s for installation on the Socket 470-8 it has an 80 millimeter fan. This guy also has on light. I'm going to show you what it looks like A little later on the video review. It also has three pin connections. Actually, you can connect it right into your motherboard’s fan header. Also has a switch. You can adjust the speed of the fan from low, medium to high. Now we’ll be going over the specs in just a second. It also has a very nice clip design here on each edge of the cooler. This goes snap right in to the plastic retention bracket that’s on the motherboard very easily.
Now this heat sink is all aluminum. You can see that that fins actually are fairly large and there is no copper base to this. Again, it’s 100 percent aluminum. But you can see here, the bottom is really smooth and that means great contact between it and the CPU.
The specs on this cooler are the fan dimension is 80x80x37 millimeter. The fan speed will vary depending on where you have it set at from 2000, 2500, to 3000 rpm. This will of course affect air flow as well as the fan noise level. Air flow will vary from 43-55 to possibly 66. Also the fan noise level will vary from 16 to 19 to 25 db. Now the overall dimension on this cooler is 97x 115x78 millimeters and the overall weight is 415 grams.
The 2L cooler is primarily an installation in the Socket 462 and it also has an 80 millimeter fan. This fan comes with a blue LED. It also has a three pin connection here, so you can connect it right into your motherboard’s fan header. And you have a switch. Again you can adjust this one from low, medium, to high.
Now this one has aluminum here at the top, however it has a solid copper base. And it’s fairly smooth so that’s going to have a great contact between it and the CPU.
Now the clip design is okay. I wouldn’t say it’s fantastic because you will need to use a screw driver to get this on and off. But it does have a three point clip design.
The specs on this cooler are the fan dimension is 80x80x37 millimeters. And the fan speed is from 1500 to 2200 to 2800 rpm. And of course that will affect the air flow as well as the fan noise level. The air flow varies from 27 to 49 to around 62. The fan noise level will vary from 13 to 18 to24 db. Now the overall dimension on this cooler is 88x82x79 millimeters. And the overall weight is 395 grams.
Let’s first have a look and listen at the 4ProL cooler. Does look quite nice when it’s all lit up. Right now it’s at the lowest setting of 2000 rpm. Very quiet. This is the 2500 rpm setting. And finally the highest setting of 3000 rpm.
And let’s have a look and listen to the 2L cooler. Again, that looks quite nice. Right now it’s at the lowest setting of 1500 rpm, it’s very quiet. The next setting up is at 2200 rpm. And the highest setting is 2800 rpm.
These coolers do look quite nice with those blue LEDs. And also the fan design is a little different with no grill. So don’t be sticking your fingers in there when they're spinning. Also the performance on these are quite good. Now as for the clip design, well I like the clip design on the 4ProL cooler. But I do not like the clip design on the 2L. Why? Because you need to use a screw driver to get it on and off. Using a screw driver is bad news if you were to accidentally slip when you're forcing it down to remove it. You’ll do some serious damage to your motherboard. But overall, these products have great value.
