Hey thanks for stopping by. I am Chef Billy Parisi and you’re watching FixMyRecipe.com. Our new fix goes to Charlotte, she forgot to tell us, but her fix is for sweet potato pie. She needs help getting back on track and kind of needs a new recipe. Don’t worry Charlotte; we’re going to fix you up.
Charlotte, when it comes to baking anything, it takes patience. This recipe is going to take close to two hours and 15 minutes. So the first thing we need to do is wrap these sweet potatoes in tin foil. Heat them in the oven at 350 degrees for about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes.
Alright, it takes about exactly an hour and 10 minutes on 350. We’re going to set this to the side. Let them cool off for a little bit. Then we’re going to simply peel them, put them in our bowl and mash them, and add in all of our other ingredients. Heavy cream, a little bit of yoghurt to keep this nice and moist, some vanilla extract, brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, for a little more stability we’re going to add flour, and two eggs.
You really want to beat this sweet potato batter until it’s really nice and smooth. After it is, we’re going to go ahead and go in a gram cracker pie crust. Now I have one that’s pre-made. If you don’t want to do that, want to make your own, please do so. And if you don’t have a recipe for that, check out my New York cheesecake.
Oh my lord, that looks amazing. We’re going to wait for this to completely cool and then you know, I’ve got to try some.
Charlotte, now that’s good sweet potato pie. Use this recipe. You are going to be more than happy with this fix. Once again Charlotte, thank you so much for writing in. If you have any other recipe needs, please submit them to me. I will gladly take care of them for you. Come back tomorrow and see our new featured fix of the day.
