VIDEO DESCRIPTION:

Get ready for more fun and laughter when the team from NBC’s 'Superstore' returns for a special "golden" preview this week. They’re back at work and ready to deal with voracious bargain-hunters and their own ups-and-downs in daily life as employees who really are just like family. All from differing backgrounds, they have to be a team—like it not. The group makes us stop and think a little differently every time we walk into a certain big box retail megastore that features hues of blue just like fictitious Cloud 9 in St. Louis. Emmy Magazine of the Television Academy calls the show "a working-class comedy with heart—and equal opportunity casting." By design, each 'Superstore' character in the sitcom is very much his or her own person, with a wonderful cast that exudes magical on-screen chemistry. A Blast for the Cast America Ferrera is a producer of the show and stars as Amy, a very dedicated employee, and Ben Feldman is new hire Jonah. Their associates, lovingly called "oddballs" by fans, are played by Lauren Ash as assistant manager Dina who goes “by the book,” and Mark McKinney as Glenn, who “really wants to be top dog, but he’s really not built for it,” he has said earlier. The at-your-service employee group also includes Colton Dunn as Garrett, Nico Santos as Mateo and Nichole Bloom as Cheyenne. You'll meet them in another video here soon. Mark, who’s 57, told Uproxx earlier this year that he thinks Glenn “does strike a paternal, benevolent pose that no one respects or often recognizes. He prays for her, [Dina, played by] the fabulous Lauren Ash, who I get to improv with before they call ‘Cut.’” Both he and Lauren are Canadian and both have impressively strong backgrounds in improv. They’ll both show and tell us about that in this interview, where it’s obvious they love to work spontaneously with each other. Lauren and Mark share their latest health secret, too: Hint, it involves “zzzzzzz.” Lauren 'Fesses Up They participated in a panel at the NBCUNIVERSAL SUMMER 2016 TCA PRESS TOUR and had a great time doing it. During the discussion Lauren shared this: "I sure hope that we get to see Dina driving her truck again in Season 2 since I feel like I almost killed America Ferrera, America's sweetheart. America turned to me during that scene and said, 'You're good at so many things. This isn't one of them.' Which was nice because she was telling the truth. Trying to hit a mark—I'll hit a mark with my feet, but with a car, it's very difficult. I damaged some things." Stand by for more hilarity and don’t miss the 'Superstore' Olympics preview episode this Friday, Aug. 19 on NBC at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT. Then catch the official premiere on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
