At the end of what ABC’s George Stephanapolous called “a pretty tough week” for the president, Sunday talk revolved around the Wisconsin recall and a series of national security leaks. On CBS’s "Face the Nation," recall victor Gov. Scott Walker says his fight has helped put Wisconsin up for grabs in November.

 

“I think it’s definitely in play. Six months ago, I think the White House had it firmly in their column. I think it’s up in the air … if Gov. Romney can show that he’s got a clear plan — a plan to take on the kind of reforms we need to make America great again...”

 

And on "Fox News Sunday,"  Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels says the recall could be seen as a mandate from voters to strip collective bargaining rights from unions — a move that started the recall effort against Walker in Wisconsin.

 

“First of all, voters are seeing the fundamental unfairness of having its own special interest group, sitting on both sides of the table."

“I hope it means some kind of turning point in trying to readdress the balance.”

 

On ABC’s "This Week," senior Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod criticized GOP nominee Mitt Romney for saying America doesn’t need more government growth — even when it’s jobs for teachers.

 

“His statement was, ‘We don’t need any more teachers, we don’t need any more firefighters or police. The president’s out of touch!’ Out of touch? We’ve lost 250,000 teachers in the last couple of years.”

 

Another big issue on the Sunday shows: high-profile leaks from the Obama administration on cyber-attacks against Iran. Although the Justice Department appointed an investigator for the case Friday, Republican Sen. John McCain continued his call for an independent probe on CNN’s "State of the Union."

 

“If it is – and it certainly is -- the most egregious breach of intelligence in anybody’s memory, that certainly requires a special counsel who is completely independent — someone who has credibility…”
