Summer Gift Ideas for Father's Day
Rhiannon Ally: Whether it’s a gift for a recent grad, your special dad or you're just looking for something cool for yourself, David Gregg Senior Editor behindthebuy.com has it all. He’s here with the variety of hot ticket summer items for this season. Welcome!
David Gregg: Glad to be here.
Rhiannon Ally: What I love about all these this looks like a regular printer, it looks like a GPS but it’s not.
David Gregg: Well they all have new enhancement that really differentiate themselves and let’s start out with something if dad did love golf. This is brand new from Callaway it is a driver. If you get close a bit right here, it’s the Callaway Diablo Edge and Tour Drivers. All titanium, easy for me to say, which means it’s very lightweight, it gives a very long accurate hit when you use it.
But the other thing too is that it’s really designed for distance advantage. The edge driver which is more for the average or beginner golfer gives you basically more stability with core technology and you get a harder, bigger drive and also much more distance when you're using the tour driver. You can see that’s very, very lightweight.
Rhiannon Ally: Yeah it’s very light and that’s going to cost you about 300 bucks.
David Gregg: Under $300 which for Callaway gold club it’s good stuff. So if you want to look and drive like Nicholson on the golf course this could definitely help you do it.
Moving along to it this printer right here, this is the ESP 7250. This is an all-in-one printer from Kodak that makes it much easier to share your pictures for a very good reason. Number 1 because the ink is the lowest price in the industry, a black cartridge just under 10 bucks, color just under 18, but also it’s got an application called PicFlick that allows you to print directly from your iPhone or your iPod Touch without having to connect up to wires. And speaking of wires, it’s also a wi-fi so you can print from anywhere in the house without connecting on this under $200 from Kodak.
Rhiannon Ally: I love that. You can also use your BlackBerry’s you mentioned or any other phone—
David Gregg: Yup and the quality of the pictures are lab quality they really look tremendous. iHome they’re known for all things iPod related. This particular item is a portable rechargeable speaker system. It is the IP46. It’s got 4 speakers inside it SRS true base which makes it sound tremendous. The other cool thing is it got this little retracting dock right there but the built-in batteries last 10 hours on a charge so you're not constantly changing batteries. 20% off the $100 pricetag which makes about $80 if you go to ihomeadio.com and put in dads20 you get that 20% off on iHome.
Rhiannon Ally: Not bad, we love a discount. Okay, GPS.
David Gregg: GPS this is really a big trend setter. Tomtom is always been known for the quality maps they put in their GPS. This is the worlds first the 320TM actually gives lifetime free map uploads. So you can always upgrade, make sure you have latest and greatest maps, and also has lifetime free real time traffic so it get you there efficiently quickly combine that with their IQ routes feature which actually bases your route on the average times travel on the road and you will get there very, very quickly.
Rhiannon Ally: And you will give off with that. So this is a digital photoframe we’ve seen these. I have one. What’s special about this?
David Gregg: This one is really cool, it’s from PanDigital. It’s the 8-inch photomail digital photoframe. If you take a look right there it’s an 8-inch frame but what's different is the way that the picture has got into it. It has an its own email address that receives pictures that anybody you give that email address to sends it to that frame but they get in there through a cellular connection. You don’t pay a fee for this cellular. You can get under 300 pictures in there and of course you can load pictures in there the old fashion way which using the media port or your camera or your PC.
Rhiannon Ally: The old fashion way.
