Stop asking for other’s approval. Are you always asking for reassurance from friends, your partner or even your kids? Are you the one who asks, does my bum look big in this? Well stop. Make up your own mind, whether or not you look good in something and try to be positive, remember. Don’t constantly weigh yourself, check yourself out in every mirror and compulsively compare yourself to every other woman in the room. If you cannot give up this need for reassurance straight away, then cut down your requests for it. For instance, if you're going to a party, make a deal with yourself that you’ll ask your partner only once if you look fat. Weight gain and loss is so tied up with self-esteem. The vast majority of people who are trying to lose weight think they look awful in everything. Yet how many overweight men and women do you see even in the celebrity world who scrub up really well, you know, look fantastic despite their weight. It’s a question of confidence and you must start to build that up in yourself. Dress for success. Make sure your hair looks good, attend to your skin, spend time with your makeup if you're a woman, skin care if you're a man, and smile. Don’t ask for other’s approval, give it to yourself.
