Stephen Kiprotich received a hero's welcome as he returned home to Uganda on Wednesday. Kiprotich was unknown to most Ugandans
before winning the Olympic marathon in London on Sunday. The 23-year-old sealed Uganda's first Olympic gold medal winner in 40 years when he crossed the finishing line on the Mall in a time of two hours eight minutes.
A prison warden by day, Kiprotich had to train in Kenya to achieve his Olympics dream due to a lack of facilities for athletes in Uganda.
