When the beverage is safe to drink, the cup remains clear, however if the drink is spiked with drugs, the cup showcases red, hazard lines, alerting the drinker that something is wrong.The goal of the drink ware is simple: prevent incidents of date rape. Drink Savvy is trying to raise $50,000 in funds on Indiegogo.com so the product line can go into production. Last year, Israeli scientists created a sensor, which looked like a straw. It would detect two commonly used date rape drugs with 100% accuracy. If the product detected a drug, it would turn on a red light. Date rape drugs are typically odorless, tasteless and possess no coloring which makes it nearly impossible for a human to detect.
