Male: It’s another DIY Network Bathtastic quick tip.
Matt Muenster: Hi, I’m Matt Muenster with two great ways to save space in your bathroom.
Male: Instead of a regular swinging door, install a pocket door. It will free up a surprising amount of space. You basically create a slot out of your side wall and install an upper track. Then attach rollers to the track. These allow the door to slide in and out of the pocket with ease. It’s kind of like a secret passageway. You can also create a double pocket door with this clever solution. Just rip one solid wood door into to halves. Then add strips of wood to finish the inside edges, in this case, maple.
Router the strips at waist height for finger poles, once installed, the strips are given the same stain and finish as the door, looks like it was custom-made. Now you have great looking door and more space.
