Constance: This one stodgy pink marble bathroom was completely out of step with Stan and Mandy’s personalities and we’ve given them something that’s a much better fit and we’ll see their reaction.
What do you think?
Stan: Wow it’s really nice in here.
Mandy: Wow it looks so completely different.
Constance: You started out with an awful lot of pink.
Constance: And now there is not a trace.
Instead we created a more tranquil palate of muted greens and a rich dark brown.
Mandy: My favorite part of the new room is everything.
Stan: I was impressed at how easy it was to make such a big and drastic change for the better.
Constance: You can see here that the colors really worked together. If you had too much of this green pebble, it’s a little too much visual stimulus it needs to be right next to something clear and very clean lines and dark espresso brown to give it the right kind of balance and that gives it the more calming influence.
We added to the serenity of the space by subtracting all those mirrors in favor of our new work of art and it works with this organic element that we brought into the room with these beautiful potted plants. These kind of artistic elements are easily done and they completely personalize the room just having the darker green of this artificial plant really does make a statement in here but it’s cleaner than natural.
Mandy: Yes a real plant.
Designer: Okay so did you notice where your hamper is now, it’s no longer on your deck. It’s now down here. Look at that.
Mandy: Wow, I will not miss the hamper on the tug. I wanted that space under the counter to be utilized because it was just there. So now that our hamper is down there it’s a perfect spot for it and I think it will be nice to have all the mess hidden away.
Constance: The other color you had hidden here was shiny gold and you still do but now it works with the new sea pebbled tile so that it doesn’t seem so obtrusive.
Designer: And one area where we left the gold in the room is these light sconces but we actually concealed it with this wonderful wooden like balance and it was very easy to do, right.
Mandy: Yes very easy to do.
Designer: I know the gun was a little scary but it was easy. We did a few pieces we stapled together and we found this green plastic diffuser that just went right in and allow the light to come through without allowing to see the fixture.
Stan: Honestly I don’t think a bath can be this good.
Mandy: I’m hoping to one day actually take a bath in my tub. I don’t thin I have done that yet since we’ve moved here.
I know that with the colors you feel relaxed so I don’t want to be in there.
Designer: Now our bathroom definitely feels like a day at the beach.
