Female 1: Brighten your mother’s day gift giving by making mom this photo lamp. Just pick a theme and give it light. Female 2: When I look for selecting the images, I look for something that’s easily identifiable. When you're looking at the lamp, you can tell exactly what it is. Female 1: You can use different views of the same images to add interest. Scan each picture and adjust contrast until the image jumps out at you. You can even crop out unwanted backgrounds or people. For mom’s lamps to really stand out, add a mixture of vibrant colors to the images and place them on a black background. Overlap the images in your computer. Place them in a semi circle and print. The gel medium is used to add texture and painting won’t work with computer print out. So make a photocopy. Paint a few coats of the gel medium onto the photocopy. When it’s completely dry, place it under water and run the paper backing off. Wear comfortable shoes because this process takes a while. Female 2: To try to speed it up, I once tried using a brush but it scratched it all up and tore it apart. No brushes. Female 1: Hang your images so they will dry. Cut the images to fit your lamp shade with scissors and glue them in place with the gel medium. Now just trim the edges. Once you find just the right base, you got a really bright idea for your next mother’s day gift. And remember, you can get all the printable instructions right here.
