Image: Tropika Island Of Treasure/SABC BY JASMINE BAILEY Just two days after Reeva Steenkamp was reportedly murdered by her boyfriend, Olympian Oscar Pistorius, South African Broadcasting Channel says it will still go forward with plans to air a reality show she starred in. That show, called “Tropika Island Of Treasure 5,” is set to air on Saturday night. The show is based in Jamaica where cast members live in luxurious villas while they compete in challenges. The winner walks away with prize money. In as statement , the show’s executive producer, Samantha Moon said: “Reeva was an intelligent, beautiful and amazing woman, and we feel it would be an injustice to keep that unknown from those who did not know her personally. Every episode that she is in…shines with her light and her laughter echoes in every conversation…” Before the first episode begins, a tribute to Steenkamp’s memory is expected to air. But a writer for Hollywood Life asks , isn’t it still too soon? Writing… “While the tribute is a nice gesture, surely this is in poor taste? Reeva has not even been buried yet…It seems like it is too soon to be airing a show that shows her competing in a series of hazardous challenges.” But as Mirror points out — Steenkamp’s family believes she would have wanted the show to go on. Her cousin Sharon Steenkamp said: “Reeva ‘was proud of being in the show. Her last words to us personally was that she wants us to watch it.’” Steenkamp was shot four times through a bathroom door on Valentines Day. According to CNN, her boyfriend Pistrorious... “...appeared in court on Friday where he openly wept and trembled as he was charged with murdering his girlfriend.”            The double amputee sprinter’s defense is that he mistakenly believed Steenkamp was an intruder. The case is still under investigation.
