Since I am going to use columns here if the light were right over my shoulder for a flat lighting if we had a flash, and we’re just illuminating the columns we won’t be able to see that it’s round.
And we get to actually see depth and dimension as part of the introduction of shadow, so let’s just look at the light falling on the columns. Is the highlight side of the column? This soft edge transfer and to translate into shadow, so we want use that and it will show roundness of faces, so we can highlight the plate of the face. That’s where one who illuminate is, and those other parts are not really important. We’re going to kind of like fade off into shadow, so our attention doesn’t go there.
